Kasabian : SXSW 05
Chris from Kasabian sat down with Reba for a quick interview at Buffalo Billiards during SXSW 05.
Reba: What are you listening to while on tour?
Chris: Johnny Cash, Grand Funk Railroad, The Who
R: Do you know which album from Johnny Cash?
C: It's actually a cassette! Some sort of greatest hits mix.
R: What three words or phrases best describe your music?
C: Live rock, electronic, big beats, ballsy bass-lines, ok that was four.
R: That's ok; I like the ballsy bass-lines.
R: If you could tell me something that your fans don't know about your past, what would it be?
C: We used to be called Syracuse, not many people know that, that was years ago, we've also had about 6 different drummers over the years.
R: Tell me about where you come from and where you are going.
C: We come from a small town named Leicester - for the future, oh, if you would have told me that we would be here in Austin Texas playing SXSW and that our album would have been 94 on the billboard this week I wouldn't have believed you. I believe were going somewhere, not sure just yet, but somewhere.
R: What would you tell someone who is about to go to their first Kasabian show?
C: Prepare to dance, don't be scared, get involved with us, we love connecting with the crowd and playing for the crowd.
R: If you were Jell-O what type would you be?
C: Forbidden Fruit! I Guess.
R: You are what you eat, so what have you been recently?
C: A burger, I try to eat healthily, but it's hard on our schedule, I've been eating a lot of subway. Italian BMT mostly.
R: I heard you've gotten a lot of heat for speaking what you think of other bands?
C: Well, that is true, like Cooper Temple Clause, never spoke to us while we were on tour with them, it was kind of creepy.
R: Do you like their music?
C: I like one of their songs, new toys.
Thanks to Kasabian for making time during their busy schedule!
